Ibiza is a scenic island in the Mediterranean Sea about 50 miles off the east coast of Spain. The island has a number of resorts suitable for relaxing, family holidays, and other more liveley resorts with good night life.

The islands capital is Ibiza Town. The Beach Resorts that attract most of the tourists, are situated next to Ibiza Town, or around the Island. Many of the resorts are close to each other and connected by public transport. There are also many boat trips between the resorts so you can be based in one resort and visit many others.

Ibiza Town is not viewed as a resort.

The town is well worth visiting though to explore the fortress overlooking the town, for its great shopping, scenic marina, cafes, restaurants, bustling bars and some of the best nightclubs on the island.

Talamanca is situted next to Ibiza Town, to the north, about a 15 minutes walk.

This is a peaceful resort with a good sized sandy beach, shallow waters, and a good selection of restaurants, hotels and apartments, many with sea views over the bay towards Ibiza Town.

There are a number of water sports and boat trips available at the beach.

Figueretas is a suburb of Ibiza Town, about 1 mile southwest of Ibiza Town centre, 2 miles north of the larger resort of Playa d'en Bossa.

The resort is regarded as peaceful with a mixture of tourists and locals with many cafes, bars and restaurants catering for all.

The town has a long palm tree lined promenade that runs alongside the beaches. Many of hotels and apartment blocks are situated next to the promenade with great views over the bay.

The beach has many watersports, parasols and sun loungers.


Playa d'en Bossa is situated about 3 miles south of Ibiza Town, about 2 miles north of the Airport.

This resort attracts visitors of all ages as it has the largest beach on the island with safe supervised bathing, and a good selection of water sports including diving, wind surfing and kite surfing. The resort also has numerous restaurants, many lively bars and some of the islands best nightclubs so can get lively at night.

The resort normally has family entertainment and the Aguamar Water Park is situated close to the beach.

Santa Eulalia del Rio is situated about 13 miles north of the airport.

This is the third largest resort/town on the island, regarded as an up-market, relaxing resort with many water sports and popular with families.

The resort has a good, wide, sandy beach with a palm tree lined promenade that runs the entire length of the beach. Many of the hotels and apartments have views over the beach.

Sitting high above the resort is a fortified church that has to be visited named Puig de Missa.

Ceasers Watersports is situated just north of the town with a wide range of water sports and also offers boat excursions.

The only golf course on the island is situated just south of the town.


Cala Llonga is situated about 11 miles north of the airport, 4 miles south of the larger resort of Santa Eulalia.

This is a small, scenic, relaxing resort with a good sandy beach and shallow waters, making it popular with families.

Water sports catered for include: windsurfing, waterskiing, parasailing, pedalos, canoes and sailing.

A ferry boat runs daily from the larger resort of Santa Eulalia. A road has recently been constructed between Cala Llonga and Santa Eulalia so you can now also travel between the resorts by bus or car.

The only golf course on the island is situated just north of the resort.

Es Cana image

Es Cana is situated about 16 miles north of the Airport, 3 miles north of Santa Eulalia del Rio.

Es Cana is a peaceful family resort with a good sandy beach supervised by lifeguards. There are a number of watersports such as: banana boats, waterski, parasailing, windsurfing and boat trips.

There are also scenic beaches close by such as Cala Martina with a windsurf and diving school.

Ceasers Watersports is situated just south of the resort with a wide range of water sports and also offers boat excursions.

Portinatx is situated about 21 miles north of the airport.

This is another small, scenic, relaxing resort popular with families. There are three sandy beaches here, all with shallow water.

There is plenty to do at the resort including: jet-skiing, windsurfing, banana boats, pedaloes, scuba diving, snorkelling, horse riding and mountain biking.

Puerto de San Miguel is situated on the northwest of the island about 17 miles northwest of the Airport.

This is another small, scenic, relaxing resort with a good sandy beach popular with families and couples.

The resort has a number of water sports suitable for all the family, fine restaurants, and interesting places to visit such as the caves of Cova de Can Marca, that were used by smugglers.

The scenery in the area is fantastic, especially the coastline with the private Isle de sa Ferradura situated in San Miguel bay.


San Antonio is situated about 12 miles northwest of the airport.

This is one of the largest resorts on the island popular for its nightlife in July and August, and with families the rest of the year.

The resort has a great beach with safe waters and a palm tree lined promenade. There are many watersports along the beach, a marina and boat trips to other resorts on the island.

Most of the late night entertainment is in the original part of the resort known as San Antonio Town. The quieter part of the resort is situated on the south side of the town known as San Antonio Bay.

Cala Tarida is situated about 12 miles northwest of the Airport.

This small, relaxing resort is situated at a large sheltered bay about 5 miles south of the larger resort of San Antonio, on the West coast of Ibiza.

Cala Tarida is popular with families all year round and attracts many day trippers visiting its scenic beach. The resort offers many water sports, boat trips, a supermarket, few shops, bars, cafe's and good restaurants overlooking the beach.

Cala Vadella is situated about 12 miles northwest of the airport, just south of the other small resort of Cala Tarida.

This is another small, relaxing resort popular with families all year round with a good sheltered beach with shallow waters.

The resort has a few hotels and apartment complexes, most with good views over the beach, a dive school, pedaloes, banana boats and sunbeds.

There is a regular bus service to the larger resort town of San Antonio about 9 miles north, or to Ibiza town about 14 miles east.

Formentera is a small Island to the South of Ibiza.

The island can be reached by a ferry from Ibiza Town to the port of La Savina on the island as seen left. La Savina is a working port with a scenic marina, a few holiday apartments, good restaurants, scooter hire and bicycle hire.

Only people looking for an extremely peaceful experience make the trip to this island. Formentera is known for its crystal clear waters, miles of sandy beaches and mainly undeveloped coastline.

Es Calo is a small village on the main road running through the middle of Formentera.

The area has a few shops, restaurants, local beach named Ses Platgetes and bicycle hire.

This island is popular with naturists, up to 50% of people using the beaches may be un-clothed.
